Manuscript Features

The manuscript is incomplete. The available folios are: 1―19, 22, 〈〈22〉〉[[21]] (in this order on the microfilm), 23-47, 〈〈30〉〉[[31]]〈〈31〉〉[[48]], 49-51.

On the microfilm, exp. 2 (after the index card) shows fol. 51v, exp. 3t shows fol. 51r, exp. 3b shows fol. 50v, and exp. 4 shows the (empty) fol. 1r. From there onwards, the order is regular. Fol. 38v/39r is microfilmed twice (on exps. 44 and 45).

On fol. 47r, the text breaks off in line 3. The last words are:

prativedesi me kṣipraṃ draṣṭum icche narādhipaḥ || tato sa cārako dūto rājānam etad abravīt || brāhmaṇa

Fol. 47v, bearing only the foliation in the right-hand margin and the word mahābhraṣṭa in the upper left-hand corner, is otherwise empty. The text is resumed on fol. 48r with the words liṃgate || tasya dānisudarśanāye evaṃ bhavati udakarākṣasenagṛhītā

Occasionally, there are corrections (mostly insertions) in the margins. Only on fol. 1v, there are three marginal glosses (the word to which they refer is marked by two horizontal strokes, one on top of the other); the glossing is, however, not continued.

The text contains sundry scribal errors which are not indicated in the extracts.
